Case Study - Imperial War Museum

Michael and Partners were recently commissioned by the Imperial War Museum to carry out a Visitor Tracking and Analysis project with the objective of mapping visitor movement around the IWM Duxford site and to analyse levels of engagement with display spaces, retail and other visitor services.

IWM required insights in these areas to inform the creation of a masterplan for the long term development of the Duxford site.

We used a sophisticated methodology that combined GPS tracking, visitor interviews, visitor observation and transaction analysis. This case study sets out more detail on the approach taken and the outcomes delivered for IWM. It is likely to be of particular interest to those involved in the management of visitor attractions and cultural institutions or those concerned with the optimisation of visitor experience in similar contexts.
